What is laparoscopy?

A laparoscopy is a surgical procedure to check the organs in the abdomen. In the surgery, doctors make smaller cuts than the patient expected. This cut is sufficient for doctors to carry out the process. During the surgery, doctors use a laparoscope. A laparoscope is a cylinder-shaped tool with a tiny video camera and light on the end. The surgeon inserts it into the abdomen through the small cut and checks out the organs on the video monitor connected to the laparoscope. This helps them diagnose the organ causing discomfort to the patient. Now there is no need for a surgeon to make big cuts in order to diagnose the condition. It is one of the least invasive surgical techniques available.
